| I am going to be hosting 80-100 people for a banqet, most of whom are young (20's) and poor (college students). I need to know if the costumes are an essential part of the game. I know some would dress up, but maybe less than half. Will this still work? I am looking at the 4 Dueces game. |

I never require costumes at my parties. Some hosts do, but like you, I have many friends that just don't have the funds to handle it. Our parties usually have about 1/2 that costume and 1/2 that don't.
For my Four Deuces parties I bought the cheap gangster hats (by the dozen) from Makes Parties for the guys, and I bought cheap Boas for the girls, and provided these for those that did not costume. It was not real expensive, and it allowed those who could not afford costumes to feel more into things. That being said, costumes are not required for your party to run perfectly. They are just to help the theme. Just like decorations.
Here is a link to the gangster hats. They run anywhere from $8 and up per dozen. There are others available too.

Here is a link to the Boa's. You can buy nicer ones separately, just like the gangster hats, but these boa's run under $25 a dozen.

So for the cost of renting one costume, you can supply your guests a costume! Hope this helps. |
