Lying

Postby MagicPickleFairy » June 15th, 2007, 8:21 pm

I am having my party in a couple of weeks and I was talking to a guest, who have done mysteries before, about my Immortal Murders party. She asked if people were allowed to lie when their characters were being questioned. I have heard of mystery parties where a characters are allowed to lie and others that restrict it. I have looked at my character booklet and it said nothing on the matter. So I am asking: Are people allow to lie in this kind of mystery party?

You bet they are allowed to lie & they will too. Trust no one, as you can bet your friends will be busy scheming to take you down and dig up all your skeletons, while they are smiling to your face and telling you how wonderful you are!

Thank you for the answer, the lying element does sound like a lot of fun.

It really makes the game so much more fun. I could not imagine playing one of these and being honest while doing it!

I do agree because my friend joked that she would go around asking everyone, "Did you commit the murder?" In which if people were not allowed to lie then would ruin all of the fun in the game.

The one I saw only allowed the killer to lie. But still, if you just catch someone in one lie, you know they are a killer. Ours are like real life. The kiler will be lying, along with everyone else there

It takes good investigating skills & an eye for details to solve a murder. Not everyone can do it, but those that cannot have so much fun that it doesn't matter!
