July 2008 Contest Winner - The Four Deuces Grand Opening

Postby Nisse11 » July 2nd, 2008, 4:04 pm

On June 28th, 1920 the red carpet was rolled out and Don Wannabe and Madam Meme invited Chicago’s best to come see their newest speakeasy “The Four Deuces.” The guest list was exclusive and guests had to give the bouncers Al Capone and Sly Sleaze the password “Lead Poisoning.” Unfortunately, some of the guests were told the password was “This Clip Joint is the Cat’s Pajamas.” If they weren’t on the list and didn’t know the password, guests had to bribe or sweet talk their way past the bouncers. Once inside they were promptly greeted by Mr. Smith, the concierge of the evening. After speaking to Mr. Smith guests left the foyer and entered the ballroom. Madam MeMe was there to talk to every guest and welcome them to her establishment. She was overheard telling every man that they had to be the most handsome man at the party. She told them to come to her if they were looking for any entertainment. She said her girls were no dogs, but you might be lucky to get some tail. (They were actually her dogs wearing lingerie.) The Cigarette Girl offered everyone Chocolate Cigars or Candy Cigarettes.

Once all the guests had assembled, they started to mingle. A few surprise guests were found including New York Boss, Capo “Toto” Tequila, the U.S. Congressman Darrin Toosteal, and Mayor “Big Bill” Bumpkin. Top Hops kept a full stocked bar that was hidden behind the casino. Jimmy Skinny, the casino dealer offered roulette and poker to anyone that wanted to give it a try. He also had a lottery going around. After guests had plenty of time to mingle, Don “Big Jim” Ravioli called everyone together for an announcement. No one was able to hear the announcement before a loud shot rang out and “Big Jim” was no more. After that things got really heated. People were arguing over the reading of the will and tempers flared.

In order to keep secrets, xxxxxxl murdered Carrie Crooner-Ravioli. Al Capone tipped off the Capo that xxxxxxl had been skimming profits. Al and Capo cornered Don, but Don poisoned the Capo’s drink. With his dying breath, the Capo ordered Capone to off Don and he did. Later in the evening Sly Sleaze killed Madam MeMe for her money. It was an exciting evening and all the guests felt that there had never been another opening like that of the Four Deuces. Blackmail, robbery, and high stakes poker games all happened that evening, not to mention murder.

(This is the most fun I have ever had at a murder mystery. Due to my brother having a surprise mandatory work day the night of the mystery, I got to play Capo. I got as much dirt as I could on every player during the first part of the mystery and even convinced a player to marry me. I blackmailed almost everyone present to keep my mouth shut about their secrets. I organized a high stakes poker game and learned who had been skimming my profits. Just when I thought I had everything going for me I was murdered, but had just as much fun being Jack “Greasy Thumbs” Guiseppe for the last 15 minutes of the game. I claimed that I was the best accountant ever and could double anyone’s money within an hour.

Everyone had a lot of fun and we are looking forward to playing The Four Deuces 2 on New Year’s Eve. I recommend this game to anyone and everyone. Here are just some of the wonderful pictures that captured the fun of the evening. I wish I could post them all!

Looks like so much fun! I really like the double dealing password  I did have to red x out some info in your post, as we really try to avoid giving away any spoilers that are written into the game. Now many times people come up with their own plots and we allow those to stay, as these will differ from party to party.

Thanks for sharing!
