This was our first time we hosted a murder mystery dinner party. It was an absolute blast! There were 35 guest in all. Everyone, to our surprise, was dressed to the nine for the event. Infact, several of our guests rented/purchased outfits from the local costume store in Depot Town. I was Madam MeMe and my husband was Don Wannabe.
Guests entered The Four Deuces via our carport. It was decorated with colored lights and crystals. Al Capone guarded the door and made sure no one entered the facility without the secret phrase "Joe sent me". Once entering into the club, they were greeted by Bubby the bouncer who escorted the guests to the signature book and to have their picture taken.
The decor was red, white, and black. Most decorations were hand made. White tissue paper flowers and crystals hung from the ceiling. Styrofoam was painted to look like deuces. We shopped at local resale stores to find the perfect table clothes, and assessories. We purchased flowers and other items from the dollar store. In the bathroom we hung signed photos of blues artists, and actresses of that time. Turkey, ham and meatballs were the main dishes. In addition, salad, cheesy potatoes and desserts were available. Drinks included pink murder, beer, Chambord and cream, rum punch, jello shots, and pop.
The entertainment for the evening was a sultry performance by Carrie Ravioli who sang, "It hurts so bad" by Susan Tedschi. Tom Hobs manned the bar for the evening. Toto was the one other murder for the evening.
After the murderer was disclosed several of us went to a local club to continue with the party. Everyone loved this so much, that we are going to host another murder mystery party. (The sequel to The Four Deuces) Thank you!
