Murder at the Four Deuces

After months of searching and researching the games available on the web, I chose Murder at the Four Deuces from Dinner and a Murder Games. I was extremely pleased with the choice. For the past three years we have hosted a murder mystery party for our family Christmas party and this game ensures that the annual tradition will continue for many more years. The other games that we chose in the past weren’t entirely scripted, but the characters weren’t assigned in advance as they are with your games. And what a big difference that made. With the games we played in the past, being given all of the information at once (when you arrived at the party) was very overwhelming and a bit confusing. Not so with your games. Our characters had a good idea of who they were and what they were all about so their confidential information was very easy to receive and act on without feeling overwhelmed and confused by the information. In the other games, the only objective was to figure out who committed the murder, a murder that happened before the game. With your game, everyone had their own objectives and was able to create their own agendas making for a very memorable evening for all involved. This was our first year of dressing up for the event and it was amazing how everyone got into it and went all out with their costumes. At the end of the evening our guests were already making suggestions about next year’s theme. It was agreed that costumes for a 60’s or 70’s theme would be fun.

Now, on to the party details…

We opened our doors for the grand opening celebration of the Four Deuces speakeasy at 5pm on Saturday, December 16, 2006. Our guests arrived at various intervals after the doors were opened for business. Al Capone was our doorman, making sure no one entered without a secret knock and password. All of the dames in attendance were well dressed and looking as beautiful as ever, and the jobbies looked very handsome in their best party attire. The flamboyant Madam MeMe took great pleasure in welcoming each guest individually and showing them around their wonderful new joint. At the conclusion of the tour, Madam MeMe led the guests to the hired photographer to pose for a photograph to commemorate their attendance at this huge event.

The grand opening was underway with popular jazz music playing at the piano (TV) while the guests anticipated Don “Big Jimâ€
