Box vs digital?

Postby Joemanfro » April 29th, 2018, 10:02 pm

Hi there!

First timers here deciding what set to purchase for my wife’s upcoming 30th birthday party... everyone is very excited. We are trying to decide whether to purchase the boxed set or the digital experience. Can anyone explain if there are any major differences in the experience between the two? We have access to a printer, but are wondering if we are missing out on any features by not purchasing a physical copy.

Hi Joe,

Hope you emailed as I didn't get notification of your post! No idea why. Anyway, there is not much difference between the box and the download contents. The price difference is actually less than our cost to print the boxes. We spend almost $15 on toner alone. You will probably use 2-3 sets of inkjet cartridges printing these. You will need Certificate Paper and Name Tag 2x4 labels for your party. If you have extra characters, you will also need business cards. We provide prepackaged game money for your guests, whereas, if printing, you will need to print and cut out each piece of money for your guests. You will use a half ream of paper and spend 2-3 hours printing everything. If your printer does not print two-sided, then you can add another 1-2 hours to that time. Most likely it will cost you much more than the price difference to print these and that doesn’t include the time that goes into doing it either. We do not make anything off our box games compared to our downloads. We do this only as a service to our customers. Our shipping cost is the actual cost of shipping.

In the end, the choice is yours and if you have access to the ink and materials free of charge or if you are overseas, the shipping cost may make printing it yourself the better choice. It depends on your circumstances.

Hope this helps you some.
