Partial Printouts

Postby DisposableSuperHero » March 5th, 2007, 10:58 pm

I downloaded extra character packet #2 for 4Deuces. I can see all of the type on the invitations and character backgrounds. However, not all of it prints. For instance, I get the headings for Playing Tips, Planning For the Event, Talking to People and Your Goals, and on the computer file I see the copy, but on the printout I get the headings but not the paragraphs under them.

That usually idicates some kind of printer problem. Either printer error or a driver font reading problem. This usually only occurrs in some older model printers. Try shutting down your printer for about a minute then restart it. Then just print 1 booklet and see if the problem still exists.

printer problem?

Postby DisposableSuperHero » March 6th, 2007, 9:34 pm

Hi. I restarted the printer and computer both. It isn't all the copy that doesn't print, just specific paragraphs on specific pages. But it is exactly the same paragraphs on the same pages for every character.

If you are viewing it on screen, but it is not printing then it is a printer related problem. Do you have another printer you could try to print to? There is nothing wrong with the pdf. How old is your printer? Have you checked to see if there is a newer printer driver for it?

I found the problem. I had to print it as an "image" not a document on the printer options. Just in case others run into the problem. 8)

That is not at all normal. I would say you have a very strange printer, with unusual settings. Could you give us details of what kind of printer you have so that we know for future reference?

It is an HP PSC 1400, about a year old. Not too rare, since I bought it at Sam's. Once I got the images working, everything printed fine and the ones I printed were only distinguishable from the ones you sent me in the box version because I used a different weight paper. Thanks for your help.

Actually it is a problem with that printer. I did a Google search and there were tons of pages about it. HP even put our a critical fix for the problem! You can read all about it and find the link to get the fix here:

I knew it wasn't our games
