I am thinking of purchasing the Four Deuces (Tame) pack but I have quite a few questions before as I have previosluy purchased another Murder Mystery pack of off another website and it did not turn out a sucess due to the pack itself, I had to spend countless hours redesigning it would be greatly appreciated if you could answer these to put my mind at ease

I will try my best!
1) Why is it rated 16+ when it is tame, the event I am thinking of holding is for 14 year olds, they are fine with violence but is there anything else I should know about?
I could not rate Murder at the Four Deuces Tame just because of the setting. There are gangsters during prohibition. There may be mention of booze or other topics that were going on at the time. It is mostly booze mention that gave it the rating though. Churches are large customers of mine and if I were to rate a game clean that mentioned alcohol, even if it was in relation to the times, they would rip me a new one. I once made the mistake of having a clean rating for a game that had a character in it whose sister died 20 years ago and it was discovered she was pregnant. But as she was in college and unwed, this customer went ballistic about unwed pregnancy even being mentioned. It did not matter that it was not an actual character in the game, just the past relation of one. That taught me to be extremely careful about my ratings. It is almost impossible to get a clean rating from me now
Personally, I would have no issue with my 11 year old doing the tame game and probably not even the mature, as our games always handle mature content in a very sophisticated way. It is never raunchy or ugly.
2) Is it all 'scripted' or is there some knowledge/logical thinking needed?
We DO NOT script our games and you don't want one that is. Those are terrible! Each guest gets a background, which may have things for them to do, then after the murder they get a Confidential booklet. This will tell them their secrets, things they know about others and things they need to say or do. All of these are done in their own way and time. Our games play like a real party. People mingle and talk to each other. They don't sit around a table taking turns reading cards. This game has been played by MANY teen groups and always been a success. In fact, if you read the reviews and the contest entries, you will most likely see several that are teen groups.
I would also suggest you go to the game page and download the free sample. In it you will get a Host Guide, which will give you a very good idea of how the evening will run. You will get a sample character background and confidential also, so you can see how those are done.
Our game will allow your teens to play as little or as much as they want. Imagination and drama in at least a couple kids does make it better, but still not a requirement.
3) How easy is it to work out?
If you mean the murder... easy and not so easy. It takes a certain type of person to solve murders. Not everyone has the eye for detail. The evidence points to the murderer, but most people don't bother to really see it, if they even look and the reason for this is that everyone is having too much fun scheming their own schemes to really bother to investigate the murder. Happens all the time!
4) How much Money is supplied (in the download pack, I can print some off) Will I need an expansion pack to suppply 10 people with good quailty money?
In the download pack, you can print as much as you want to. Just make sure to give everyone the same amount. In the box sets, the money is prepackaged, 1 package for each person. Each individual package has $100's, $50's, $20's, $10's, $5's and $1's. I am not sure of the total though.
5) What if using the weapon cards someone kills the killer? What happens if they also kill another very important character?
First, weapon cards are not done until after the murder, food and evidence is presented. That is already almost half way through the evening. The murder can be solved just from the evidence alone. In our games, no one is too big to die. Or the bigger they are the harder they fall! Each time someone dies, the guest returns as another character. This will bring in new intrigue and information, so in fact, this helps the game instead of harming it.
6) Can the inspector be killed? I understand he is a main part required for the end?
He can be killed, but he usually isn't. But, if he is, you can have him come back as an inspector called in to investigate the murder of the investigator!
7) How many pages are there
Hmmm, A LOT. Each character booklet has (4) 2-sided pages to print and a 1 page 2-sided confidential That is just the start. There is a complete list of contents on each game page. That should give you a better idea of what you will need to print. When I say game page, I mean the main page on our web site that features that game. You would get to it form the left column menu.
8) Is it a PDF file?
If you buy the download, it does come in pdf's
and finally....
9) How easy is it to change? I am thinking of not tellign anyone but Don that it is a murder mystery, I am going to say you must work out a big secret at the party and I was thinking of giving out the background info at the party itself. This way It is a complete suprise and shock to everyone but me and Lewis (Don) and this adds to the 'severity'? Will this work? If no, do you have any differnet suggestions?
Sorry, but none of that will work at all. First, you cannot change anything in the game without taking the chance of messing it up. Don't worry, this game really is the best murder mystery game on the market, so you will not need to change anything.
In addition, these are pdf booklets. Not changeable.
The kids should all get their character backgrounds before the party so that they can costume and also read through their booklets and get a good understanding of what will be happening and how to participate. Going in blind would not be fair to anyone. My suggestion is always going to be to run the game just as it is written. Follow our instructions. We have an RSVP system, which will allow you to send invites and character backgrounds via email. This always helps.
Thanks a ton in advance! It will be greatly appreciated
You are very welcome!
