Murder at the Four Deuces: number of players

Postby brianford » May 18th, 2008, 12:40 pm

We are considering hosting Murder at the Four Deuces, but looking for some clarification,

if we have 20 actual guests, is the standard download OK (ie for 20 players), what happens if 4 guest get murdered, what character would they then play.

The game says its for 20 guest, but what happens if someone does not turn up, especially if that person is the murderer.

Many thanks
in advance

Hello Brian,

If you have the full 20 guests, then anyone murdered with one of the 4 weapon cards would need to return as an Inspector. If you have less than 20 and someone is murdered, then you would give them any unassigned character you have available. You can also get an extra character packet that would give characters to anyone who dies.

You need to make it very clear to your guests that if they confirm they are attending then they need to be there and if they cannot, then they need to give you as much notice as possible. Let them know that not doing so could affect your party. I would make sure main characters are played by your more reliable friends. If, at the last minute, a main character does not show up, then you need to give that character to one of your guests that has a secondary character.
