Western Theme or substitute?

Postby dodgerblue » November 25th, 2009, 2:33 am

I have been wanting to host a murder mystery party for friends and family for years, and I finally decided I'd set it up within the next few months. I always knew that different themes would work, but I felt like a Western theme of some sort would allow for characters to dip into accents as well as traveling back in time to a different day and age. Of all of the websites and kits I have found, your website and your customer service seems personable and very well thought out. My question is is there any way to substitute one of these kits with maybe just different names? Or am I limited to just these themes on here? (I love the flapper idea but suits and everything else could make it expensive for my guests). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Matt

Hello Matt,

Unfortunately, our games theme is very ingrained into the game itself and cannot be changed. Our Murder at the Four Deuces roaring twenties game is the best game out there and despite what you think, your guests can costume for it very cheaply. I have suggestions for doing so on our roaring twenties theme page here:

Buy Beaded Fringe and attach it creatively! You can get this at most craft and fabric stores. Maybe add a beaded shawl around the hips. Beaded fringe to bottom of dress and sleeves. Tassels were also in vogue.

Guys can just throw on black pants and white shirt, or if they have it a black suit. You can get gangster hats for your guests for $6-$25 a dozen, if you really want to save them money. I always get a dozen of the hats and boas for our girls and guys that do not costume:

I definitely think that the party will be a success and I will most likely be purchasing the package after the holidays. Thanks for the ideas!
