Four Deuces Costume Question

Okay, kind of a dumb question! I will be playing Rebecca Ravioli in Murder at the Four Deuces. My costume is black and gold, but in my character background it says white gloves are necessary. Would any color glove be okay? Black would look a lot better with my outfit. Thanks! =)
