weapon cards and play money

Postby cschoepp » November 9th, 2006, 11:48 pm

Does anyone have any suggestions for using the weapon cards? I'm doing four deuces, and I was thinking of going with a more traditional, nostalgic approach.... Rather than use the weapon cards provided, which are clever but somewhat obscure, I was thinking of using four cards from the game Clue. These cards are smaller and are actual cardboard cards, so I think they would be easier to hide and identify. Will changing the weaponry pose any problems with the game?

Also, I am running a full casino, so I was planning on using play money from the game monopoly, which is color-coded and easier to read in dim lighting, and offers 1$ bills. I can't imagine this would be a problem, but I ask just in case....

Thank you!

You are welcome to use the weapons from a Clue game. Just be sure to hide them as stated. Game money again does not matter. I even tell you that you can purchase money. The main thing is to be sure everyone starts with the same amount.

What do you mean by "just be sure to hide them as indicated"? Do I have to hide them in the places you give clues to in the PDF, like the XXXX (4 deuces)? I have come up with four good hiding places that suit my house better because, for instance, the basement doesn't have a XXXX, and I have written my own clues for them. Are you suggesting that the places you indicate, like the XXXX, are significant and written into the plot? Or am I looking into your response too far?

Sorry I have so many questions...lol

Well, if you don't hide them according to the clues, then no one will find them.

However, if you are going through the trouble to make your own clues, and to invent your own hiding places, then there should be no problem at all.

I just wanted to mention that someone has let us know where one of the clues will be hidden. I don't know if you have changed it since or not. Just thought I'd let you know.

I see now. I have XXXX'd that out. It would have been alright if they had also not stated which game the hiding place went to. We have different hiding places and clues for each game. No two are the same.
