Sept 2011 Winner - Murder at the Four Deuces - Sioux Falls

Postby peyton23 » September 30th, 2011, 7:19 pm

The Grand Opening of the Four Deuces here in Sioux Falls, South Dakota was a tremendous success!! The evening was full of lying, cheating, stealing and of course, Murder!!

My wife and I hosted the evening as Don Wannabe and Madam MeMe, and a evening that started off on a high note with the opening of the Four Deuces soon turned to a bloodbath with three murders. Everyone dressed up in awesome costumes, trying their best to bring the 20's to life. During the party, 20's music filled the house, courtesy of Vintage Music: Original Classics, featuring big band music and crooners from the 1920's. Silent Movies were also playing on the four tv's in our home, playing Modern Times ( Charlie Chaplin ), The General ( Buster Keaton ), Safety Last ( Harold Lloyd ) and Our Hospitality ( Buster Keaton ). Photos from many famous celebrities also adorned our party.

We served a ton of food, including desserts, which kept everyone extremely happy!! We made an actual menu, including appetizers, main dishes, sides, drinks and desserts.

A Casino was set up in the garage, Madam MeMe's brothel was temporarily closed, but the hallways were lit up with red lights to set the mood! Problems persisted throughout the night with a constant battle between the ravioli's and the crooner's. The mayor was involved in so much blackmailing throughout the evening ( including blackmailing Al Capone and I ), we spent the whole evening trying to get or buy weapons cards to get rid of him!! Unfortunately for him, he didn't end up with the most money ( Wealthiest Player ) at the end, that honor went to Donna Wannabe, my conniving younger sister. She spent the night scheming, lying, cheating and blackmailing her way to success!

Two of us did manage to figure out the original murderer's identity. Best Dressed went to Vicky Ravioli, Best Performer went to "Big Jim" Ravioli and the Inspector. By the end of the evening everyone was raving about how much fun the party was and can't wait for the next one!! :D Thanks again to Dinner and a Murder for providing us with this tremendous evening!!
